35 hospital staffers test positive for COVID-19 in Kavre



KAVRE: People’s movement in and around the Spinal Injury Hospital based at Bhainsepati of Banepa municipality-13 has been restricted after 23 hospital staffs were tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

According to ward chair Surya Narayan Napit, people’s movement has been banned until further notice, bearing in mind their health safety.

Public Health Office Kaverepalanchowk chief Dr. Narendra Kumar Jha said the virus was confirmed on 23 Spinal Injury Hospital’s staff and 12 of Dhulikhel Hospital on Saturday alone.

The infected are being treated at the respective hospitals. This is the first highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases in the district.

With this figure, the tally of positive cases has reached 139 across the district while the number of recovery cases stands at 42, the District Coronavirus Command Post said.
