Unruly gang set ward office on fire



KANCHANPUR: An unidentified group last night set the office building of Shuklaphanta Municipality Ward No. 7 on fire.

Administrative office, meeting hall and the office room of ward secretary have been damaged in the fire, it is said.

Ward chairman Jagat Bahadur Singh said that important office documents, pieces of furniture, computer, photocopy machine and other physical materials were completely gutted in the fire.

Singh said that petrol was thrown away into the room through the windows as the unruly gang could not break the main gate of the building.

According to him, equipments brought to distribute the national identity card also witnessed damages due to the fire.

Details of the losses are being assessed, ward chair Singh added.
