MFD predicts heavy rain today

KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted heavy rains in some places of the country on Thursday.

With the monsoon low pressure line locating near the eastern Nepal and towards the southern part of western Nepal, the rainfall is likely to occur in some places of the country today, said Barun Paudel, a meteorologist.

According to Paudel, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Pradesh, 1, 2, 5, Bagmati Pradesh and in some places of Gandaki Pradesh.

Meanwhile, MFD has urged people living near the river banks to take precaution warning that the rainfall will induce floods and landslides.

Currently, the rain is occurring in some places of the country with partly to generally cloudy weather.

The weather will be clear towards the afternoon in those places where the weather is cloudy this morning, said Paudel.
