Nepal’s foreign loan and grant go down



KATHMANDU: The figure in both the foreign grant and loan has gone down in the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2019/20.

According to the Ministry of Finance, Nepal has received Rs 118.81 billion from foreign countries in foreign aid, of which, 16.190 billion has been received as grant aid while the 102.62 billion as loan.

The percentage of grant aid is 13.6 while the foreign loan is put at 84.4 percent.

Nepal has received Rs 15.14 billion in foreign aid in the period of nine months – less by 5.1 percent compared to the foreign aid received in the last fiscal year.

It had received 16.38 billion as foreign grant in the first nine months in the fiscal year 2018/19.

Similarly, the foreign loan has also gone down by 10.5 percent.

In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the government received Rs 33.66 billion as foreign loan.
