BIRATNAGAR: The Armed Police Force (APF) has intensified border patrol in State-1.
APF chief in the State, DIG Nagendra Thapa, said more than 3,500 APF personnel are on duty to curb crimes on the open border with India.
Thapa said since the beginning of the lockdown in March 24, the Armed Police Force has intensified border monitoring and patrolling.
He said that this has stopped illegal cross border movements of the people during lockdown.
Districts bordering India such as Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Panchthar and Ilam have been effectively monitored to stop illegal cross-border movements.
He further informed that as many as 24 Border Outposts (BOPs) have been activated along with additional border observation patrols.
