BIRGUNJ: A businessman from Birgunj, Parsa district, who was said to have been tested positive for coronavirus has tested negative, hospital sources have said.

The businessman of Birgunj Aadarshanagar-10, who had been referred to the hospital from a local hospital in Birgunj six days ago, was said to have been tested positive for COVID-19. However, his report came out negative, Patna Medical College sources said.

He was suffering from fever since the last few days, hospital sources said. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital in Patna.

It has been reported that 12 of his family members have been kept in isolation home in Birgunj for suspicion over coronavirus.

Lawmaker of Parsa Pradeep Kumar Yadav had earlier confirmed the report.

“He is currently in Patna now. His family has been kept in isolation in Birgunj,” he said.

The person had returned from Dubai a few days ago, Yadav said.

Earlier, his family members had said that the person was tested positive, which later came out to be wrong.
