Lockdown in Mahendranagar announced amid COVID-19 fear



MAHENDRANAGAR: The District Administration Office, Kanchanpur has decided to impose a ‘lockdown’ in the Mahendranagar town areas and some villages from Sunday midnight.

The decision to this effect was made in a view to preventing the novel coronavirus spread in the district.

Kanchanpur Chief District Officer (CDO) Nurhari Khatiwada said no people will be allowed to come out of their houses until further notice.

“All industries, factories, and market areas will remain closed,” he said, adding, “The decision has been made to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” he said.

Likewise, the local authorities have also sealed the border entry point with India indefinitely at Gaddachauki.
