KATHMANDU: The government has decided to covert the Balambu-based hospital of the Armed Police Force (APF) into a dedicated hospital to treat COVID-19 cases.

A meeting of the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Coordination Committee led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense on Saturday decided to manage necessary infrastructures and transfer patients undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Likewise, Bir Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Patan Hospital and Birendra Military Hospitals too will be kept on standby, media reports said on Sunday quoting Health Secretary Yadav Koirala.
