Ex-Minister Khatiwada appointed Nepali Ambassador to USA



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed former Finance Minister Yuvaraj Khatiwada as Nepali Ambassador to the United States of America.

Prime Minister KP Oli had recommended Khatiwada as an ambassador through a Cabinet meeting after he stepped down as a minister.

The recommendation was already approved by the parliamentary hearing committee.

A statement issued by Keshav Prasad Ghimire, Assistant Spokesperson of the President’s Office, said that the President had appointed Khatiwada as the Ambassador of the United States on the recommendation of the government in accordance with Article 282 of the Constitution.
