Student unions conclude: Parliament dissolution undemocratic, unconstitutional



KATHMANDU: Student unions have concluded that the announcement of the dissolution of Parliament was undemocratic and unconstitutional.

A joint meeting of nine student unions including Nepal Students Union, All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union, National Students Union, and the Socialist Students Union reached this conclusion on Tuesday.

“The recommendation of the KP Oli-led government to dissolve the House of Representatives and the sudden announcement of the dissolution by the President is undemocratic and unconstitutional,” the joint statement said, “On behalf of the United Student unions, we strongly condemn this act.”
