Record-holder climber Angrita’s last rites to be performed with state honors

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to perform last rites of the legendary climber Angrita Sherpa, who passed away on Monday, with national honors.

A cabinet meeting held in Baluwatar on Tuesday decided to perform Sherpa’s last riutual with state honors.
Similarly, the government will also bear the all the expenses for Sherpa’s funeral ritual.

Nepali mountaineer Sherpa, popularly known as the Snow Leopard, died at the age of 72 at n Jorpati, Kathmandu at 10 am on Monday.

He started climbing Mt. Everest in 1983.
