Dr. KC airlifted to Kathmandu, taken to Trauma Center



KATHMANDU: Dr. Govinda KC, who had been has been staging a hunger strike in Jumla putting forth various demands for reforms in medical education and health sectors, has been airlifted to Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Dr. KC was brought to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj by Buddha Air flight and was taken directly from the airport to the Trauma Center.

It was said that Dr. KC would continue his hunger strike at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).

Police forcibly took him to Trauma Center citing the risk of the coronavirus infection at TUTH, according to Dr. KC’s aide.

Dr. KC was airlifted to Nepalgunj from Jumla on Monday.
