Govt decision to lift lockdown immature: Dr Pandey

KATHMANDU: Public health expert Dr Rabindra Pandey has labeled the government’s decision to lift the lockdown as ‘immature’.

Pandey has commented that the government has lifted the lockdown in haste without carrying out massive coronavirus tests at the community level.

It would bring a massive public health crisis in the days ahead if the coronavirus is not controlled and safety measures adopted, said Pandey, urging people to take precaution.

The government has lifted the lockdown at a time when the infection cases are rising at an alarming rate in the southern neighbor India.

Cases of coronavirus are still seen in Kathmandu and other districts of Nepal. The government has not widened the scope of coronavirus testing, argued Pandey.
