MFD predicts rains for next three days

KATHMANDU:  Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted that the rainfall will continue for the next three days.

Currently, the weather is generally to fully cloudy with light to moderate rainfall in some places of the country. The MFD had predicted rains for six days starting Sunday.

With the monsoon trough still existing in the sky of Nepal, it is likely to cause rains in the country.

Sarju Baidya, Director General of the Department, said the landslides occurred immediately after the monsoon started as the land had been already drenched by the pre-monsoon during the winter season.

Speaking at a regular press briefing organized at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the rain will continue until July 24 and gradually subside afterwards.

Meanwhile, Baidya urged people living along the banks of the rivers to take precaution warning that the floods and landslides might occur due to rains.
