Home Minister directs for effective stay-at-home order

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has directed the police officials to execute the stay-at-home order more effectively. People must be made to strictly abide by the social distancing, he stressed.

Extending best wishes to the newly promoted 10 Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police, Home Minister Thapa urged them to consider how the current lockdown could be made more effective by tightening the border security to stay away for the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the program held at Home Ministry on Tuesday, Minister Thapa reminded, “State has believed in you and accorded responsibility. So, please discharge you duties in honest and creative manner.”

In the struggle against the coronavirus, security persons and health workers are working in the forefront, he said, adding that if the strategy the government has adopted is successful, we can beat the virus. Any problem citizens face in the crisis must be solved on time, he added. “Every state has its own style of work. You can consider it and build smooth coordination with all seven states,” the Home Minister directed.

On the occasion, Home Secretary Maheshwor Neupane also congratulated and extended best wishes to the newly promoted police officials. They are Ghanashyam Aryal, Prakash Jung Karki, Basanta Kumar Pant, Ishwor Babu Karki, Sahakul Bahadur Thapa, Dhiraj Pratap Singh, Basant Kumar Lama, Rabindra Bahadur Dhanuk, Uttam Raj Subedi, and Arun Kumar BC. The Police Headquarters has already installed them.
