COVID-19: Trump to order suspension of immigration to US

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump is signing an executive order to suspend immigration temporarily into the United States amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Trump took to Twitter to say that he will be signing an executive order in the light of the attack from what he termed ‘Invisible Enemy’, as well as the need to protect the jobs of the American citizens.

President Trump’s announcement comes as the U.S. death toll from the coronavirus crossed 42,000, according to reports.

The US has by far the world’s largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, with over 774,000 infections.
