230 voters in Gandaki for National Assembly election



POKHARA: A total number of 230 voters will cast their ballot in the election to the members of the National Assembly in Gandaki State to be held on January 23.

The Office of the District Returning Officer said 60 State Assembly members and 170 mayors and deputy mayors of the municipalities; chairs and deputy chairs of rural municipalities in the Gandaki State are eligible to cast votes in the NA election.

While a vote of the State Assembly member carries the weight of 48, a vote of the chief-deputy and chief of the local level has 18 weight.

With this, the total vote weightage of Gandaki State is 5,940 including 2,880 of State Assembly and 3,060 of the local levels.

Five candidates from the ruling Nepal Communist Party; Nepali Congress and Rastriya Janamorcha are contesting for the two NA positions in the election.
