Parliamentary committee directs govt to manage 10,000 ventilators



KATHMANDU: The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee under the House of Representatives (HoR) has directed the government to manage health insurance, motivational allowances and security to health workers and security personnel who were working in the frontline to contain COBVID-19 pandemic in the country.

In a virtual meeting of the parliamentary committee on Friday, the members opined that the government should make effective management to contain the pandemic and ensure proper treatment facilities to the infected ones.

The treatment of the citizens should be effective and smooth in this critical hour of pandemic, committee meeting concluded. The committee further suggested increasing the number of dedicated hospitals for the treatment of coronavirus infection.

The government has been further urged to manage PCR test facilities in all 77 districts across the country.

The committee opines that the ventilators should be accessible to the infected patients for which 10,000 ventilators and ICUs are imperative as the COVID-19 cases were rising of late.
