13-year-old girl trafficked to India rescued



KATHMANDU: Police have rescued an under-aged girl of Lalitpur who was trafficked to India.

According to SP Govinda Thapaliya of the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau, police rescued the girl with the support of Indian Police.

SP Thapaliya informed that the 13-year-old girl was a vendor selling edibles in the streets of Lalitpur. Krishna Magar of Sindhupalchowk and Prabin Tamang of Kaski had hatched the plot and managed to take her to India promising a lucrative job.

According to sources, Krishna had tempted the girl with a promising salary and taken her to Sunauli by bus on February 21, 2020 and then to India.

Later, Prabin joined from Mugling and taken the girl to Pipra Rasalpur of Uttar Pradesh India and sold her in Dance Orchestra.

The team rescued the girl on June 12. Police have taken Krishna and Prabin in custody for further investigation.
