Light rain and snowfall likely in isolated high hill and mountain areas



KATHMANDU: A partial influence of westerly winds is currently affecting Nepal, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

At present, there is partial cloud cover over the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while the weather remains generally clear in the rest of the country.

The Department has forecast fog in some parts of the Terai region until noon today. The mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces will see partial cloud cover. The Terai region is likely to remain mainly clear.

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the high hills and mountains of other provinces.

Tonight, fog is likely to persist in some parts of the Terai. The high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will remain partly cloudy, while the weather in the rest of the country is expected to remain mainly clear.

Light rain and snowfall are likely at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
