Monsoon becomes active across country

KATHMANDU: Monsoon that entered Nepal a few days back from the east has become active across the country.

Rain was predicted across the country on Sunday, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Scanty and moderate rain occurred in several places of the country. Heavy rains have been predicted in State 1, 2, 5, Bagmati State and some places of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim States.

The Division has urged people to stay safe as with rain, landslides could occur; rivers could be flooded; and road and airway obstructed in the areas.

Meanwhile, there have been westerly wind impacts in some areas of Sudurpaschim and monsoon wind impacts in other areas of the country, said meteorologist Bibhuti Pokharel.
