Chartered flights continue to pick up Nepalis from abroad



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), national flag carrier, and the Himalaya Airlines continue chartered flights to bring back Nepali citizens stranded in several countries due to COVId-19 pandemic.

The NA is making three flights to Doha of Qatar, Riyadh of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Flights towards Doha and Riyadh have already taken off while the flight for Bahrain has been scheduled for 9:00 pm, according to the NAC.

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) General Manager Devendra KC said that the NAC flights would bring some 246 people from Riyadh and 149, including three children from Doha.

On Saturday, the national flag carrier made three international flights for specific purpose. It has already made public rescue flights schedule from June 15 to 30.

Similarly, the Himalaya Airlines will bring 153 Nepalis from Abu Dhabi.

The Airlines is scheduled to operate chartered flights for nine destinations for the next four straight days. Saturday reported 16 chartered flights in a single day.
