KMC endorses its policy and program for new fiscal year



KATHMANDU: The 7th general convention of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has endorsed its annual policy and program for the fiscal year 2020/21.

The 258-point policy and program tabled by Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya has focused on public health services reforms, school education reforms, food security, entrepreneurship, and employment promotion.

The KMC has also envisaged developing Kathmandu valley into one prosperous city in collaboration with other municipalities in the valley.

It will also promote good governance and e-governance. The metropolis will develop a GIS-based integrated city map and municipal information system.

The KMC has also decided to organize various technical and sensitization sessions for promoting good construction practices in the city.

Solid waste management, pollution control, and greenery promotion will be organized under the slogan ‘healthy air, healthy life’.
