KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has urged the people not to make fun of his tips to increase immunity.
In a virtual program organized by the International Yoga Day Main Ceremony Committee on Sunday, Prime Minister Oli urged to increase the use of turmeric, ginger, fenugreek and other spices that we have been using in the kitchen.
At a time when the coronavirus is affecting the world, Prime Minister Oli has been urging people to increase the use of such substances to boost the immune system.
Prime Minister Oli said, “I have said these things in terms of boosting the body’s immune system, but some intellectuals have made fun of turmeric, some have made fun of fenugreek and pepper and some have made fun of ginger. I would like to suggest to them not to make fun of ancestral discoveries like this. Ayurveda and yoga are our extraordinary medicine.”
On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli also urged everyone to strike a balance between diet, exercise and rest.
He said that to be physically and mentally alert and strong, one must first be healthy.
“Yoga and Ayurveda have been around in Nepali society since ancient times,” he said.
