Heavy rainfall forecast for some places of Gandaki, Karnali and Province 5



KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted heavy rainfall at one or two places of Gandaki Province, Province 5 and Karnali Province on Sunday.

“Light to moderate rain to occur at many places of Gandaki Province, Province 5 and Karnali Province and at some places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province and Sudurpaschim Province, chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of Gandaki Province, Province 5 and Karnali Province,” it said in a weather bulletin issued for today.

It will be generally cloudy in Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province and Sudurpaschim Province and mostly cloudy in Gandaki Province, Province 5 and Karnali Province, it added.

MFD said that monsoon winds have spread from Province 1 to Karnali Province and westerly winds in Sudurpaschim.

A low-pressure system has also been developed in the territory of eastern Uttar Pradesh, India, it added.

“There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in most parts of all the states of the country and heavy rain in one or two places in Gandaki, Province 5 and Karnali Province. Due to which, the flow of water in the rivers of those areas may increase, landslides may occur, road and air transport may be affected and inundation may take place in places where there is no proper drainage/drainage,” in advisory for next 24 hours.
