KATHMANDU: Nepalis in South Korea have chipped in some amount to help the government fight against the novel coronavirus.
They have collected from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 per person and managed to raise a total of Rs 151 thousand for the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Fund set up by Galyang Municipality in Syangja district.
Some 38 Nepali youths originally from Jhapa, Kapilvastu, Paanchthar, Sankhuwasabha, and Solukhumbu districts have collected the amount and sent to Galyang Municipality’s Ward No 11 Chairperson Dilli Prasad Bhandari.
Bhandari handed over the amount to the Galyang Municipality Mayor Bhuparaj Adhikari here Wednesday.
Adhikari extended gratitude towards the Nepalis for their support at this juncture of time.
Narayan Aryal, one of the Nepali migrant workers in South Korea to provide monetary support, said they wanted to help their bit to their motherland at the time of health crisis.
