Crimson Hospital denies report of coronavirus death



KATHMANDU: The Butwal-based Crimson Hospital has denied a report of a coronavirus-related death as reported by various media on Wednesday as baseless.

Various news and social media had reported that they had confirmed through local sources that a 41-year-old COVID-19 patient of Gulmi had died on Wednesday.

However, issuing a statement, the hospital denied the claims saying that the patient is undergoing treatment under ventilator support.

“There is no confirmed coronavirus patient who died under our care,” Crimson Hospital said in a statement.

“The hospital reassures that we remain alert to provide care as necessary,” it said

Earlier today, the media had reported that a 41-year-old man from Madane of Gulmi district died while undergoing treatment at Crimson Hospital at Manigram in Butwal.

He was admitted to the hospital on May 14 after complaining of difficulty in breathing.

His swab was tested at Province Laboratory, Butwal which confirmed him as COVID-19 positive.
