KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Vice Chairman Bam Dev Gautam has claimed that the issuance of Nepal’s new map was based on his proposal at the meeting of the party Secretariat.

Taking to social media, Gautam has claimed that it was because of his continuous suggestion that the government has endorsed the new map, including Limpiyadhura, Lipu Lekh and Kalapani.

“It would not be wise to give all credit to an individual,” Gautam has said hinting at his displeasure about the public sentiments in favor of Prime Minister KP Oli.

Gautam has said it was all because of the joint efforts, not individual, that the country had finally published a news map.

“I want to reiterate that I had form the very beginning voiced concern on the issue,” Gautam has said.

The government had on May 18 endorsed an updated political map of Nepal including Lipu Lekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani.
