DOLPA: The national bird Danphe, Himalayan monal, from Dolpa will now feature at the Lalitpur-based Central Zoo.

The bird was rescued by a local from the buffer zone and handed over to the Shey-Phoksundo National Park Office in Suligad.

Local Bir Chandra Kathayat of Rasi village in Tripura Sundari Municipality-2 had rescued the national bird one week ago and handed it to the park officials.

Acting Chief Conservation Officer Saroj Mani Poudel said that Danphe is being taken to the zoo under the direction of the Department of National Parks under the Ministry of Forest and Environment of the federal government.
