KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has said the president’s involvement in the internal politics of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is unfortunate for the country and democracy.

Tweeting a message, Koirala has commented that President Bidya Devi Bhandari failed to maintain dignity of her post by unnecessarily involving in the internal politics of the ruling party.

“The President is not a political personality. The President’s post is a commonly respected and the highest body in the country. The President has to bear the responsibilities and maintain dignity of the organization which the Constitute of Nepal has the post revered highly,” said Koirala in his tweet.

The President’s involvement in active politics is unfortunate for the nation and democracy, said Koirala.
