Don’t use Gorkha regiment in battle against China, Biplav says to India

KATHMANDU: The outlawed Biplav outfit has requested India not to use Gorkha regiment in its clash with China.

Issuing a press release on Saturday, the outfit has demanded India not to use the Nepalis to fight against China.

The press release signed by outfit’s General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav has regarded letting the youth of one country fight in the border against another as unacceptable.

With mounting tension in its border with China, the Indian army has called the Gorkhas on leave also to rejoin the duty.

Biplav has criticized the Indian government for always deploying the Gorkha regiment in the adverse situations in India and has added that sending Nepalis to fight against another neighbor is against the principle of ‘non-alignment.’

The outfit has also demanded the revoking of the provision of Gorkha recruitment in India.
