Traffic Police to strictly implement odd-even vehicle scheme

KATHMANDU: The odd-even vehicle rationing system implemented in Kathmandu Valley will be further tightened, the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division said in a statement.

On the one hand, the Division is making general public aware through placards at the main intersections of the Valley to maintain social distance and reduce congestion in the roads. On the other hand, it is tightening the checkpoints to ensure full compliance with the system.

A total of 1,358 vehicles, including 948 two-wheelers, 247 taxis and 163 small and large vehicles, were impounded from different parts of the Kathmandu Valley on Friday alone, said Senior Superintendent of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal.
