Downpour leaves Deukhuri inundated

DANG: Continuous rainfall taking place since past few days has put various parts of Deukhuri underwater.

The lack of drainage for the rain water has drowned most of the parts of Deukhuri on Saturday.

According to Mishan Adhikhari, a local of Gadhawa rural municipality-5, Bodhipur and the areas around are facing lots of problems due to inundation.

“It’s still raining. We have alerted the locals of vulnerable areas about the possibility of drowning,” he said, adding, “If the water level rises up in the Rapti and other rivers, situations will be further aggravated.”

He added that the inundation has swept away the paddy seedlings in the area.

The alert sirens are on and the panicked locals are trying to keep themselves off the flood.
