26 navy personnel test positive as India records over 2,100 new cases

NEW DELHI: With India completing 25 days of nationwide lockdown last night, the coronavirus tally stood over 16,365 in the country.

The novel coronavirus death toll has climbed to over 488 so far.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reported a total of 2,154 new novel coronavirus cases as on Saturday night.

According to the Health Ministry, 75.3 percent of the coronavirus death in the country has been recorded in people who are 60 years of age and above.

Meanwhile, around 26 serving personnel of the Indian Navy have tested positive for coronavirus within naval premises in the Indian city of Mumbai.

Likewise, the national carrier Air India has opened bookimgs for select domestic flights from May 4 onwards. It has also opened bookings for international flights from June 1.
