KATHMANDU:  Nepal Good Governance has taken strong exception to the involvement of President Bidhya Bhandari and Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi in the intra-party dispute of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

President Bhandari recently held a meeting with NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at Shital Niwas and urged him to move ahead in agreement at a time when the NCP row touched a new height.

Similarly, Chinese Ambassador Yanqi met with the Prime Minister at Baluwatar and reportedly advised the same when the NCP was on the brink of collapse on Tuesday evening.

Issuing a press note, the Nepal Good Governance said, “It is unacceptable to have international interference in the internal politics of the country.”

The Good Governance had objected to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s clandestine meeting with the chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the foreign intelligence agency of India. “Any kind of international inference is unacceptable and against the diplomatic decorum and the national independence,” reads the press note.

Meanwhile, the forum has flayed the illegal involvement of foreign powers in the internal party disputes saying that it is unfortunate and against the national independence of the country.
