Govt turning a deaf ear to people’s woes: NC leader Singh



KATHMANDU: Former General Secretary of  Nepali Congress Prakash Man Singh has come down heavily on the government for turning a deaf ear to the people’s woes induced by the coronavirus pandemic.

Issuing a press note on Monday, Singh, who is also the lawmaker of the Nepali Congress, accused the government of being inhumane and unsympathetic towards the troubles of the citizens.

“We abhor the govermnet for being unsympathic towards the sufferings of the people at this time of crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic,” reads the note issued by Singh.

Meanwhile, Singh also announced that he would not receive the Dashain allowance in view of the economic cricis caused the pandemic, urging all the NC lawmakers to relinquish the allowance.

He also accused the  government of trying to tarnish the image of the NC lawmakers by depositing the allowince in their accounts.
