Kathmandu Valley witnesses 159 new cases of coronavirus



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday witnessed 159 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, while Kathmandu reported 134 cases, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 17 and 8 cases respectively.

Out of 11,522 PCR tests carried out in last 24 hours, Nepal, meanwhile, has reported 681 new cases today.

The Valley had seen 205 coronavirus cases on Tuesday.

As a measure to curb the wide-spreading pandemic, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu has issued one-week-long prohibitory order in the Valley effective from Wednesday midnight.
