Birgunj reports two more deaths from coronavirus



KATHMANDU: Two more people have died from coronavirus in Birgunj Metropolitan City. The deceased are an 84-year-old man of Birgunj Metropolitan City-4, Birta, and a 57-year-old man of Birgunj-15, Bhiswa.

According to Dr. Udayanarayan Singh, the coordinator for COVID Hospital, the octogenarian infected with the coronavirus died in the course of treatment at Gandak COVID Hospital at 10:30 pm on Tuesday.

The pneumonia-ridden patient had been admitted to the hospital on August 11. His swab sample collected in the course of treatment came out positive during a PCR screening.

Similarly, the 57-year-old man of Birgunj-15 died in the course of treatment at 3:30 pm yesterday.

His swab report collected posthumously tested positive for coronavirus, according to Binaya Shreewastav, an officer at the District Administration Office, Parsa. His swab sample had been sent to Narayani Hospital for secreening.

With this, the number of deaths from the coronavirus in Birgunj has reached 30.
