KATHMANDU: The government has restricted the movement of people and vehicles at night.

Issuing ‘Safety Standards for Managing Lockdown-2020’, the Ministry of Home Affairs has banned the movement of people and vehicles expect essential ones from 10 pm to 5 am.

Likewise, more than 15 people are not allowed to gather for social and cultural activities including marriage, sacred thread ceremony and death rites.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed the security agencies and all 77 district administration offices to strictly enforce the decision.

It has also directed to take action against the violators in accordance with the Emergency Services Act 2014, Infectious Prevention and Control Act 2020, National Criminal Code 2074, Local Administration Act 2028 and other prevailing laws issued by the government.

The ministry has also urged to fully comply with the Health Protocol issued by the Ministry of Health on coronavirus infection.

The cabinet meeting on June 10 had decided to loosen the lockdown and directed the Home Ministry to issue security measures to manage it. The government has currently eased lockdown by allowing operation of all government, non-government and private office and private vehicles on odd and even scheme.
