Five journalists infected with coronavirus in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Five journalists have tested positive for Coronavirus in Nepal as of Monday.

Issuing a press note on Monday morning, the Ministry of Health and Population confirmed 38-year-old man to have been infected with Coronavirus. He is a journalist from Karaiyamai-5, Bara.

Earlier, two journalists from Parsa, and one each from Dhanusha and Udayapur were diagnosed with the COVID-19.

“Two journalists from Parsa, one each from Dhanusha, Udayapur and Bara have been confirmed to have been infected with COVID-19, said Govinda Acharya, President of Federation of Nepali Journalists.

According to Acharya, all infected journalists are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.

The number of Coronavirus infection cases has gone up, of late. As many as nine people including 38-year-old journalist tested positive for the novel virus this morning taking the infection tally to 304 in Nepal.

Currently, 268 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 36 have returned home after recovery.
