NA sends two bills to House panel for deliberations



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday has forwarded two bills.

NA forwarded ‘ Corruption Prevention (First Amendment) Bill and ‘Yogamaya Ayurved University Bill’ to the Legislation Management Committee for clause-wise deliberations.

Newly-appointed Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe presented the ‘Corruption Prevention Bill’ on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

While ‘Yogamaya Ayurved University Bill’ was presented by Finance Minister Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, proposing them to send to the respective committee for further procedures.

Similarly, NA secretary Rajendra Phuyal tabled the ‘Nuclear Bill, 2075 BS’ in the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, NA chair Ganesh Timilsina read out a letter informing the Upper House about the reconstitution of the Council of Ministers.

Annual reports of the Judicial Council and Judicial Service Commission of the fiscal year 2075-76 BS were presented in the meeting.

Minister Tumbahangphe presented the documents on behalf of the Prime Minister.

The NA shall meet again at 1:00 pm of February 20.
