National Assembly meeting today; Home Minister to answer lawmakers’ questions



KATHMANDU: The National Assembly is scheduled to meet this afternoon, with ministers set to answer lawmakers’ oral questions and the government preparing to table a bill on the control of infectious animal diseases.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the meeting will begin at 1:15 pm at the Federal Parliament Building in Singha Durbar.

Home Minister Sudan Gurung and Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security Sita Badi are scheduled to respond to oral questions related to their respective ministries.

During the meeting, National Assembly member Kamala Pant will present a proposal drawing the Home Minister’s attention to the government’s preparedness for monsoon-induced disasters.

The agenda also includes the tabling of the Infectious Animal Diseases (Control) Bill, 2083, which will be presented by Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Environment Gita Chaudhary.
