Two killed, two hurt in Birtamod pile-up



JHAPA: Two people have died in a road accident in Birtamod of Jhapa district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as 11-year-old Dipsan Kandel of Buddha Shanti-3 while the identity of the other deceased is yet to be established, said District Police Office, Jhapa.

The injured in the incident are Gagan Tamang, 22, of Arjundhara-11 and Sabitra Kandel, 39, of Buddha Shanti-3.

The injured are receiving treatment at B and C Hospital in Birtamod, said police.

According to Police Inspector Prakash Jabegu of District Traffic Police Office, Jhapa, the accident took place when the truck hit two motorcycles that collided with each other at Birtamod municipality-6 on East West Highway at 11:25 am today.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking the truck into custody. Both the motorcyclists have died on the spot.
