NC Chief Whip Khand returns Dashain allowance

KATHMANDU: Chief Whip of the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) Bal Krishna Khand has announced returning his Dashain allowance.

In a statement on Sunday, Chief Whip Khand has urged to spend the amount of the allowance in the public interest.

“The decision of the government to distribute allowances to the people’s representatives in the current difficult situation where ordinary Nepalis are facing shortage, pain, and hardship is not relevant. I would like to inform that the amount received by me will be returned to the government for use in the public interest through the Parliament Secretariat,” he said.

Khand has also requested the Federal Parliament Secretariat to make arrangements to deposit the amount in the government’s coffers.
