Now, face shields compulsory for traveling on public vehicles

KATHMANDU: The government has made it mandatory to wear face shields while traveling on public transport.

According to the Department of Transport Management, passengers should now use face shields when using public transport in a bid to reduce the risk of contracting coronavirus infection.

The Department is confident that the use of a face shield will reduce the risk of infection. Earlier, it was said that only masks should be used while traveling on public transport. Now, it is mandatory to use a face shield along with a mask.

The Department has appealed to the public to abide by this rule as soon as possible.

All the concerned bodies, including the traffic police, have been informed to implement the decision, the Department added.
