REBAN Pokhara Chair vows tourism promotion



POKHARA: Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal, Pokhara chapter elected Laxman Baral as its new Chairperson from its 14th general convention.

After the election, Chairperson Baral vowed that he would devote to propping up tourism industry which is affected adversely by the COVID-19.

New alternative would be sought to revive tourism industry, he said, adding that the new responsibility given to him in the unpleasant situation would be utilized as opportunity. “Entire team works with new thoughts and spirit,” he stressed.

The new committee elected Naresh Bhattarai as first vice-chair, Bishworaj Poudel as second vice-chair, Bikash Bhattarai as general secretary, Lok Gurung as treasurer and Roshan Jung Karki as co-treasurer.

Similarly, members are Dorje Lama, Yogesh Bhattarai, Bhaivab Poudel, Biren Sherchan, Basanta Gautam and Rajesh Dhakal.

There are some 400 restaurants and bars in Lake Side, Pokhara. For this year, 20 restaurant owners have not registered their business.

Moreover, General Secretary Bikash Bhattarai informed that the new committee would organize various programs on the occasion of New Year, World Tourism Day, and Holi, among others. Even the food festival would be organized.

The REBAN Pokhara chapter has been providing training to its members and employees at restaurant and bar.

Meanwhile, journalist Binod Lamichhane has been conferred on ‘REBAN Journalism Award-2077.’ The award was handed over by Gandaki State Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung. RSS
