Child drowns in river



GALKOT: A child has died after being swept away by the Bhimgothe river in Badigad rural municipality in the district.

The deceased has been identified as seven-year-old Anup, the son of Anuj KC, a resident of ward no. 7 in the rural municipality, according to deputy superintendent of police Rajendra Regmi, information officer of the District Police Office, Baglung.

The boy had gone for a swim in the river on Saturday when he was swept away.

Locals and police rescued him some two kilometers downstream, but he died during treatment at the local polyclinic. RSS
