Bardiya National Park reopens for tourists



BARDIYA: The Bardiya National Park that was closed for some seven months due to the coronavirus pandemic has opened for touristic activities.

According to the Bardiya National Park Administration, Jungle Drive and Jungle Walk have been opened in the national park for tourists from Saturday.

Only Jungle Walk and Jungle Drive have been opened for tourists in the first phase, said Assistant Conservation Officer Maheshwar Prasad Niraula.

Elephant safaris, rafting, and jungle camps have not been opened yet.

The park administration has stated that those who visit the park have to abide by the conditions set by the park even if the tourism activities are partially resumed.

Tourists visiting the park during this period must fully comply with the health safety standards set by the Government of Nepal.

Mandatory masks and sanitizers must be used when entering the park. The park administration has stated that tourists should maintain a mandatory physical distance.
