Ganeshman is a towering figure of Nepali politics: Deuba

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has remembered the late Ganeshman Singh as a towering personality of Nepali politics, a genuinely revolutionary and his political guardian.

On the occasion of the 23rd Memorial Day of the late leader here today, he said he dived into politics at an early age due to the late Singh’s inspiration and guidance. “I express my profound tribute to my guardian Ganeshman Singh. Your thinking and guidance is immortal,” the NC president stated in his social media wall.

Similarly, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has extended heartfelt condolences to the late leader Singh, also known as the ‘Iron man’ of Nepali politics, on his 23rd Memorial Day. Poudel said the supreme leader Ganeshman, who is a bright history of Nepal’s democracy movement, is the eternal source of inspiration for all as an embodiment of great sacrifice and dedication.

Nepali Congress’ former general secretary Prakash Man Singh has said the country and the people would be benefited immensely if the Nepali politics was motivated by the politics of principles and values always adhered to by the late Ganeshman Singh.

He was speaking in a program organized to commemorate the 23rd Memorial Day of late Singh at his residence at Chaksibari.

Remembering his father, leader Prakash Man Singh said that in his six decades-long political career his father spent 15 years in jail and 15 years in exile in the struggle for bringing democracy in Nepal and securing the people’s rights.

He said the Nepali people will always remember the late Ganeshman Singh, the commander of the 1990 People’s Movement for Democracy, for his long struggle and tolerance of pain, for democracy.
