Health Ministry appeals to people aged over 60 years to stay at home



KATHMANDU: The government has stated that the coronavirus crisis in the country is getting worse.

Speaking at a regular televised COVID-19 Update on Friday afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam expressed his sadness saying that the people have not heeded the direction of the Ministry to abide by health protocols.

“There is an increase in crowds and protests in places including Maitighar,” he said, “It will invite a huge loss.”

Gautam also appealed to people aged over 60 years and those with chronic diseases not to go out of the home.

“Patients with diabetes, lungs and heart-related complications should stay inside the home. If you have to go out of the house, follow the public health standards,” Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said.

A total of 2,020 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive across the country in the last 24 hours in the highest single-day spike.

Likewise, Kathmandu Valley recorded a record-high 859 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
